OrcusTechnologies discontinued the Orcus Remote Administrator project on 05 Janurary 2019, development will no longer continue.

Orcus RAT (Remote Access Trojan) is a type of malware that is used by cybercriminals and hackers to gain unauthorized access to a victim’s computer or network. Like other RATs, Orcus RAT allows attackers to control the infected system remotely, enabling them to carry out various malicious activities, such as:

  1. Data Theft: Attackers can steal sensitive data from the victim’s computer, including personal information, login credentials, and financial data.
  2. Surveillance: Orcus RAT can be used to monitor the victim’s activities, including keystrokes, screen captures, and webcam feeds, providing the attacker with insights into the victim’s online behavior.
  3. System Manipulation: Attackers can manipulate the victim’s system settings, install or uninstall software, and even perform actions that can damage or disrupt the victim’s computer.
  4. Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Attacks: In some cases, RATs like Orcus can be used to participate in DDoS attacks by controlling multiple infected computers to flood a target website or server with traffic, rendering it inaccessible.
  5. Propagation: Orcus RAT can spread to other systems, either through social engineering techniques or by exploiting vulnerabilities in software or operating systems.
